FLAG MYTH

 * * FLAG MYTH * *

There has been a change to the Flag Code that no longer requires the flag to be properly illuminated during the hours of darkness.

There has been NO CHANGE to Flag Code section 6(a), which states: “It is the universal custom to display the flag only from sunrise to sunset on buildings and on stationary flag staffs in the open. However, when a patriotic effect is desired, the flag may be displayed twenty-four hours a day if properly illuminated during the hours of darkness.”  https://www.legion.org/flag/flagmyths

Banner Orders

TRIBUTE BANNERS ARE GOING UP!

Tribute Banners are now being mounted in town on streets along the parade route.

There is NO deadline to order banners.

This is a year round program.  Banners will be mounted, as they come in.  If you desire to have you banner(s) up before Memorial Day, time is running out.  It takes approximately two weeks to receive a banner once it is ordered.

Pick up a banner brochure in Stewarts, Post Office, library, Hewitt's, Old Corner Store or go to your town's troopbanner page and print out application. Bring photo, application and payment to Berlin Town Office or the newly opened "Indoor Tag Sale" (old corner store) on Wed., Fri. & Sat. 10am-5pm, at 74 S. Main St. in Berlin.

Post 937 accepts Watipi transfer

Post 937 has agreed to accept the Berlin Train Station property, from the Town of Berlin, for their new Post home!

Renovations will start once the transfer is official. Assistance will be needed so please consider what you can do by way of material, labor, and $ donations.

  As always, Post 937 is seeking eligible veterans to join The American Legion and lend their service to those veterans who served before them and who still serve today.
